Who's a Christian?

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Corin 5:17 KJV

The Lord said, "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you." There are two phrases the Lord used constantly to depict the nature we are of: YOU IN CHRIST and CHRIST IN YOU. These two work simultaneously in any believer, though they're intricately different. Its part that qualifies anyone for being called a Christian is "You in Christ." And because the second part which is, "Christ in You" still has to grow, be nurtured and developed, it determines how fruitful the Christian. God Himself is less concerned with whatever works we do for Him but pretty much concerned about, "Is This My Child?" Everyone who's in Christ is a child of God and so God is more pleased, satisfied than observing their paths or sinful nature.

The Living Bible renders 2 Corin 5:17 this way,
"When someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand new person inside. He is not the same anymore. A new life has begun." It's the enemy of God that thinks of sins before the person. It is the enemy of the Cross of Christ that sees wrongs and sins in a child of God. Lord Jesus was attacked severally for violating the Sabbath, for being a glutton and winebibber with little or no fasting, for allowing His disciples harvest wheat to eat on Sabbath, for working (healing) on the Sabbath, for asking that the temple be pulled down and be rebuilt by Him in three days, etcetera. Yet, none of these railing accusations was that powerful to stop God's love for manifesting for His Son.

Who's a Christian? He, she who's in Christ! And that's all it means to be a Christian - You in Christ, not actually Christ in you. But wait, wait, if you enjoy any of such privileges, you ought grow the Christ in you till He consumes you - 10% to 30% to 60% to 100%! One percent increase can really take ages but if want your growth more evident, die! Then, grow yourself till your thoughts are Christ-filled and Christ-centred, till you become very rich in Christ-life, till His words dwell richly in you and are good in your conversations and every work you do, a missionnaire! Then, sins will be done with, gone and off your shoulders!
