LOVE ONE TO ANOTHER
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:34-35 KJV
LOVE ONE TO ANOTHER.
The Lord brought us a new commandment, excerpts of the old, the Ten commandments. After the Ten were compressed into two - Hear, the Lord your God is one, love Him with all your heart, all your soul and all your strength; the second is like it - love your neighbour "in place of" yourself, Lord Jesus proceeded to chipping these two commandments into one, which is Love - love one to another!
Love one to another is a "new" commandment, though it has always been with us, had always been there but unread and unnoticed. "There's nothing really new under heaven", the Ecclesiastes said and continued saying, "What had been before will be again, that history merely repeats itself." And in factual truth, it is our perception of a new understanding that makes things new, even singing a new Song! The new song is the new you, singing!
Every day as the morning breaks with new mercies and freshness from God, everything with you ought be new and refreshed - spirit, soul and body! The newness of our spirit and renewing of our mind is required for us to have new things happen or break out for us. A lightened, forgiving, forgiven spirit bearing light is what's needful for the freshness we always anticipate in life, that brings us joy, hope and happiness.
Plainly, the new commandment isn't entirely new one but a fresh understanding of what God has been saying from genesis! Sometimes, it is called the "eternal law" - that which had been before the beginning and will ever be, even after the ending. Every day after day, night after night speak of the very wonders of God, sharing knowledge with whosoever desires to gain understanding, though without words. In a way, God never stops speaking. But do you hear anything?
Jesus Christ gave us synopsis of the whole Scripture - have love one for another. It is not just "love for another" that God requires but "love one for another." This means, love has to be spread wide, not a reciprocal kind of love, where you give love only to those around, whom you know and are acquainted or those giving to you, but everybody! The bane of love is not giving at all, giving "really" without thoughts of receiving back. Ordinarily, you'd love but not with the same fervency with those you know 'well-well'?? Oh friend, that is not the new commandment!
Instead, have love one for another. Let love grow. Allow love increase. Spread love wide. You give me, I gift another or I gift you, you give another. This is the sign that you're a disciple of Jesus, when you love strangers and entertain them - those you don't even know or may never remember you, so much as to pay you back! The Lord says, "Don't hoard your love, limit or reduce it to within, those you know but give same love to those that may never see you again." Com'on, be an angel! And be angelic in your all show of love and giving. Always disappear! Be general. No limits, no restrictions! Love all, doubting nothing. Peace!
