PRAY WITHOUT CEASING

"Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." 1 Thess 5:16-18 KJV

Verse of the Day: May 7, 2022.
PRAY WITHOUT CEASING.
Prayer should be without end. If there be twenty-four hours in a day and seven days in a week, pray 24/7. Praying shows our ineptitude, our dependence on the omnipotent God and often associated with being poor, helpless or weak. Every hour on earth is our need for God, so must we always pray.

The beatitude teaches "Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven", or say, "blessed are those WHO KNOW THEIR NEED FOR GOD because the kingdom of heaven is theirs" - Matt 5:3. The "poor" here, aren't those without any money or the poverty ravaged souls but those whose heart and thoughts tend toward God always - their only help is God. In other words, those who have money don't see the need for God.

Money is a perfect substitute for God. It displaces God and provides people with vain help luring them to bask in its false security, the possibility of having a life without God. And often, money robs them of God's imminent presence, His own very help. Instead of them seeking God for propinquity, once people find money to use or even drop in the church offering basket, they rubbish whatever else God has to say. See, money is a robber!

Those devoted to God despise money and those that hate God eventually fall in love with money, summarizes Luke 16:13. These days, "Father, give us our daily bread" is termed a poor man's prayer, but this is not so with God. We must always rely on God our Creator for everything. Christ must be our sufficiency and pray God without ceasing, also the Father for provisions, even if money is readily available.
