WALK AFTER THE SPIRIT
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:1-2 KJV
Verse of the Day: May 9, 2022.
WALK AFTER THE SPIRIT.
Man is made up spirit, soul and body, his spirit a subset of God's Spirit. The operational battery for the human body with which he moves about and have his being is his spirit which he'd received from the Almighty. Normally, it's 10% of God's Spirit given equally to all and would be grown over time 20%, 30%, 40% etc even as the Holy Spirit takes over the man. Unfortunately, many grow and die in the negative, say (-10%), lesser than nothing, full of their flesh, seeding nothing for the Spirit.
Likened to this given spirit of man, is his conscience which isn't given for instructions but for balancing, equity and justice, for accepting that which is man's - for human reasoning and interpersonal relations. The summary of all conscience's intuition is, "Do to others what you'll have them do to you." In other words, whatever you wouldn't take, don't give. And conscience should not mistaken for the ministry of the holy Spirit as the latter balances relations between us and God.
Before the outpouring of God's Spirit on all people was the Law, of sin and death. And God was so meticulous in its jurisdiction that the Law was limited for use to the land of Israel 2000 years, among the Jews till 33AD at the appearing and crucifixion of Christ. The ten commandments recommended "death" for every "sin" committed. And wherever death is evaded, extinction was imminent - a total condemnation!
Walking in the Spirit of life which Lord and Christ Jesus gives, "frees" us this condemnation. Lord Jesus provides the new Way to pleasing God apart from the "sacrifices" and offerings which literally became weakened in effectiveness by human use. The flesh weakened the law. But now, the law of Spirit of life makes us freely obey the same Law but through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Here, our safety is guaranteed.
