SAMSON: LET MY SELF DIE
And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left. And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life. Then his brethren and all the house of his father came down, and took him, and brought him up, and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the buryingplace of Manoah his father. And he judged Israel twenty years. Judges 16:29-31 KJV
"LET MY SELF DIE"
The touching story of Samson the Mighty man who judged Israel for twenty years revealed the quiet secrets to winning souls. For him, that life was proverbial as he paid squarely for his bad choice and determination to marry but ended sunken into Delilah's laps, into her bosom; but to all soul winners and missions minded souls, it is of great virtue. Shall we just pray that this secret will not be veiled to us, that the Lord Almighty who also was the God of Samson (Heb 11:32) help us understand its intricacies, imbibing every doctrine inherent therein. Amen
Marriage requires death, of both parties, to be fully effected. If not, the couple dwell together but apart and divided, leaving most matters unresolved. Their individual families become each priorities, the husband focuses on his parents and siblings and maybe, children. Likewise the wife, her parents, friends and children. If there'll be God's blessed multiplying for expansion stated in Gen 1:28 in the home, death must have occurred. "For except a corn of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it abides alone: but if it dies, it brings forth much fruit", Jn 12:24. The reason for loneness, putting away and separations in any family is "no death occured". Marriage is a marring and crushing of both parties to form an entirely new compound, of which the parties - their past, present and future are subsets. One will ordinarily think Samson the wise and quite collected would back off from marrying knowing his anointing and consecration forbid such rigorous activities as death, but he pressed on till he pressed the wrong button - Delilah's!
For the soul winner who's aspiring to hit targets grasping the pivots of his ministry, the wellness of his own very soul void of self is key, of great importance. The responses a soul winner gets is a factor of where his own soul dwells - with God or self. Samson having realized his mistake which resulted in the loss of his two eyes and hair of glory, cried to God, "LET ME DIE WITH THE PHILISTINES" because he suddenly understood: To ensure the full redemption for these heathens, his self must die! Oh, it seemed a revenge for his two eyes but more to it is he saying, "Enough of my standing alone, chained, away from the people I am called to judge and lead to Jehovah, Lord, let me die with them now!"
As a soul winner, if your own soul hasn't been won and overtaken by God, how do you intend attract others to the light of God? The wellness of your soul and absence of self aggrandizement, addressing the love of your heart and where your treasures are kept is far more important than going out to do something for God, as if God were lame or handicap that He needed to be helped. Baptist John once remarked in Matt 3:9, "Don't think God supposedly needs you as children, He's able to raise robots to finish his work", or how do you read yours?
O yes, are robots not stones? Will the lifeless stones built with the latest technologies, programmed to always obey orders not satisfy God than the wishful, wilful, hard-hearted, obstinate Homo sapiens? These stones, I tell you, will glorify God if man continues to ditch the Lord's command, to replenish the earth - the only blessing with an order. Today, God has appeared again to you in mercy asking that you consider the ways of robots, how they never refuse orders and amend your ways. Will you or won't you? Are you going wait till you've lost your vigor for productivity and retired like Samson before turning to your Creator? Is it not better to turn willing to God turning in your strengths for the service of Humanity than waste in wait for your old age to come when humans would have used up the better you?
Think it over, brother. Don't let robots replace you. Don't let Self and ambition displace you from honoured service of Christ, so the Delilahs of this world don't lap you to remove your light from its stand having received eleven hundreds pieces of silver! Sister, be the very one God may use for His exploits. Be useable and available, corrigible and teachable for every good work of replenishing the earth, Gen 1:28. What's your decision, now?
