STINGY OR LAVISH?
Remember: A stingy planter gets a stingy crop; a lavish planter gets a lavish crop - 2Corin 9:6 MSG
STINGY OR LAVISH?
No planter goes to farm with low yielding seeds in hope of getting a fat harvest. No, all farmers like high yielding variety seeds for a major breakthrough. God, speaking through Paul spotted the difference between a stingy farmer and a lavish one. Mind you, a lavish farmer wouldn't because he's generous go to waste seeds. No, he'd probably be more careful and prudent because of the overall impact and cost effectiveness of his entire operation.
So in a flash: a stingy farmer isn't gonna sow less because he wants something - magical, than his sowing while a lavish planter isn't gonna sow more for cost effectiveness because every planting has some recommendations per planting and spacing.
What then determines who's stingy and who's lavish? It's their heart - thoughts and preparedness, not the amount of seeds sown!
Take a look at their heart conditions: a lavish farmer would sow 1 or 2 seeds per hole against the highest recommendation of 3 or 4, then make provisions for thinning and supplying, if any need arises. But a stingy farmer would put more seeds in one hole of planting, say 5 seeds because: 1, he isn't sure of the viability of seeds and probably pick from his previous harvest - unverified seeds and 2, wouldn't think land preparation is important beside bush clearing and bush burning.
A stingy farmer leaves weedicide behind and makes no provisions for herbicides or even pesticides nor rodenticide. To him, those are extra cost. Instead he focuses on "seed" and feels the more seeds he plants, the greater its harvest.... Something just makes him think putting more seeds per hole or broadcasting them abroad and everywhere will bring him big harvest. Of course, he'll like to apply fertilizers for a bountiful harvest but sadly, end manuring weeds. Surely, he's bound to fail.
Whereas, a lavish farmer ways are different - he ensures ploughing is done and even doubled, if harrowing wouldn't be. At the proper time, he applies the herbicides - selective, nonselective, contact and systemic, make provision as well for fertilizers after he's ensured all his seeds are viable at least, 98%. He spends more time knowing the state of his farm and following his crop on timely operations. In nutshell, he's more careful and elaborate, detailed primarily at land preparation and other parameters than actual planting.
Now friend, are a stingy farmer who boycotts proceedings, bypass due process thinking "waiting" is stupid and sheer waste of time? Are you more harvest and result driven than obey simple instructions? Are you so stingy that you leave out the preparation of your heart but rush for sowing and reaping? My friend, go back again! You need to go back again! Flippant, frivolous, presumptuous hearts don't walk with God. In fact, they've no place in the kingdom of God! Repent now and ask God for a change of heart. Let Him replace your stony and hard heart for a soft one - heart of flesh. Ask Him also for the mind of Christ that you may think like God Himself whose preparedness is far evident from generation to generation. Pray bro, pray sis until something miraculous happens to your heart and you stopped being stingy. Amen
