LABOURERS ARE FEW?
Are you a labour, bro? Are you a labourer, Sis? Can you allow yourself used as a labour for the building our Lord is constructing? Our Lord Himself is the foreman, His engineers with Him working, but can you work on site as a "cheap" labour? Would you release yourself to building this house?
When the Lord, Jesus lamented that the harvest is plenteous but labourers are few, it wasn't that levites were all dead or that people were no longer religious or that the priests were on strike but that "cheap", "common" labourers were no longer available. And Jesus wept.
Funny, till now, labourers are scarce. Before you can find one man, just one working as a "labour" for God, you may have to travel a million miles. Everybody is a boss. Everybody is busy working but not for God, not even as a labourer.
This is the crux of whole matter: God sent Adam, his wife away from His garden to labour for what he'd eat - a curse. That labouring spirit which is to be spent for God was wasted looking for bread of sorrow.
God had reserved that labour-life for work for Himself, but since Adam craved sweating and hard labours - didn't want God feeding him, supplying his needs, he wanted independence caring for his Self, God sent them out of His beautiful garden to labour for their Self.
Bro, harvest is still plenteous but there are no vessels, empty that God may pour Himself. Everybody is managing his own life. Nobody wants to release himself, his future to doing cheap labour, paid daily wages, for an Invisible Person!?
Pharisees, Sadducees and other denominated bodies were all there working, but none ever thought of God. Instead, they molested the flock, harassing them, making huge financial supports. Even publicans were better than they.
Sis, the call is very clear today: Would you like to be a cheap labour for God, insignificant? Bro, can your sweating be for God? Will you happily release your own body, damning its consequences, to work for this God, cheaply? For God looks for clean cheap labours.
"Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest", MATT 9:37-38
