Tuesday 22-11-2022 MYSTERY OF INIQUITY

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts.

2 Peter 3:3 KJV

Here is another mystery of iniquity - how people would become cold in their love for God and follow the simple majority of scoffers on the broad way, who have no need or use for God. Their initial mistake was that they failed to read the Scriptures by the urgent Spirit with which they were written. So they read and laugh. They read but stand up to go their own way. Scoffers, mockers, all sinners laugh often at God's ways - all seem foolish, weak and unenterprising. They say things like, "God created the whole world but lives elsewhere", but didn't think He reserved them rights to life. Or say "They say, He's coming back and for 2,000years He has not showed up", but wouldn't think He included them in God's plan. When they hear sermons like, "You cannot serve God and money" they mock like the Pharisees because they in their vain imagination think God uses money and would soon be in need of them. They think this way primarily because of their failure to read the Scripture the way it was scripted.

What we see these last days is even more alarming - people using the Scriptures only to gain ground, weight, to occupy lands and fill people's hearts to personal ends. They like stem-borers walk into people homes to suck them dry dead. There's no one who reads Scripture not fixing his gaze on the Lord that becomes anything great in God's hand or His Army. Without God's mirror - the Scripture, you'd simple forget what sort of person you are, what you look like on the inside, soon, you'll be walking in your own way, after your own lust.
