FINDING YOUR REST

"Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and YOU WILL FIND REST. For the yoke I will give you is easy, and the load I will put on you is light." Matt 11:28-30 GNT

Peradventure you've come to the Lord, Jesus and graciously obtained the favour of receiving His own rest and had also gone a step ahead to take His yoke but have refused to put it on yourself, instead you gave the yoke to another to bear on your behalf, then my friend, you'll need to go back again! You remember Simon of Cyrene who bore Jesus' cross on His way to calvary when the Master couldn't bear it any longer? And did you hear of him again? What other thing did he do? O yes, Alexander and Rufus his sons may have survived, but what about him? Mk 15:21. Refusing to bear the yoke or bearing it for another are both useless.

Go back again! Go back, if the yoke is not laid on you. Go back bro, if you're not shoulder-to-shoulder yoked to Jesus. Go back again, else your works won't be recognized nor accepted by the Lord. Go back to the Lord for refreshment. Go to obtain His rest. Go back for reregistration, God's system is unable to process your data, entry. Sorry, it failed. Your recent update is invalid, please go back again. Really, you have tried upgrading your status to "Child of God" still, you're not up to the grade of a servant. Just go back again! Without the yoke of Jesus fittingly laid on you, your movements would be haphazardly restless, unthought, unread and eventually unnoticed by God.

God desires rest for everyone, everybody in their spheres of operation, everyone in his office, being the head and not the tail, building houses and living in them, planting vineyards and eating from them, Isa 66:21-23. God desires works that cannot be subdued, replaced, stolen or copied for everybody. So, He passes us through His rest. Simply put, if you've ever evaded this procedure or bypassed this process, you're likely a thief, stealing from people - their dreams, ideas and ideologies, doing other people's work, unable to head your own affairs, living in wants like the tail trailing others, banished to the world of dreams and probably, die unfulfilled.

When God will be punishing thieves and liars who swear falsely by the prophecy He sent through His servant Zechariah, Zech 5:1-4, these ones too won't be spared. Why? Because they live unrested, in restlessness, refusing the provisions of God but now stealing from others. Such has made the earth turbulent, more chaotic, empty and void than it previously assumed. Everything's become unnecessarily competitive whereas, the sky is wide enough for all the birds to fly. Rank xeroxing and duplication of duties, replicating and all the things which cause wasteful investment and increased expenditure must be subdued. And the only way is this way - Find Your Own Rest!

Thank God for Copyright laws which have helped many stayed on top, as heads in our day but remember Isaac didn't have such body to protect his rights and enterprise but God alone. Isaac continued to dig, digging wells around until he got to Rehoboth that his well couldn't be stopped, Gen 26:15-22. Isaac gracefully beat his competitive adversaries by a large margin. Thank God, Lord Jesus also drank from one of them later owned by Jacob and many others, greatly helped by this unstoppable well founded on a hill, by a mountain!

My friend, what well have you dug that people may drink from? Answer me. What everlasting work have you established for people to get saved by? How many of your wells have even your adversaries stopped? What well have you dug that Jesus may drink, quench His thirst and be refreshed? Do you know how many people were saved by that Jesus' conversation created by the Well of Jacob, Jn 4:6-29? How long are going to be a thief causing unrests, stealing people's ideas and making it yours? Did you think God will give you their reward? How long are you going to live dwelling in houses you never built nor found? For how long will you be fed at others' effort, from the vineyards they planted?

Have you not turned Ahab-Jezebel desiring some Naboth's vineyard because it's close to your own palace? Bro, why will you refused the rest God offered you? You're likely to shed another's blood if you don't watch your desire and appetite and put a knife at your throat? If you will not commit murder, become wicked eating from where you haven't sow, take Jesus' yoke and put it on yourselves. In this, is that rest God has for you, prepared on your behalf before the founding of the world, Eph 1:3-4. Finding this rest, the place of your originality and purpose is very crucial if you'll compete favourably.

Where has your spirit rested over years? Tracing it is one way to detecting and discovering your own rest. Have you been consistent bearing the Lord's yoke, and haven't "freed" yourself awhile to walking astray? Then, you're close to His kingdom, not far from finding rest for your own soul. Stay focused, concentrate doing your best, study to show yourself approved, victory over thieves will soon be ensued. Those who steal destinies and exchange it for peanuts will soon be wiped out, the memory of them gone completely into extinction.

Coming to gentle and humble Saviour Jesus is the guarantee that you'll soon find yourself rest. If you did receive Jesus' Rest and had stayed true to Him through now, you'll definitely find a resting place where you may lay your head, a place of your own, never to be driven out. Unhealthy rivalries and heavy competitions which trouble the earth rendering it a wilderness will be things of the past. The glory will be to God again and you also shall be glorified. Everything becomes simplified and life, apparently easier, making right choices. You will be happy again! You will enter your Rehoboth in Jesus matchless name! Rejoice.
