ENTERING YOUR REST 5
WILL GIVE YOU REST!
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Matt 11:28-30 KJV
Jesus promises to give the rest! He's aware many things bother you - achievement, ambition, allotment, etcetera, though only one thing is needful in life Lk10:41-42, and He says, if you'll come to Him today, the rest of the things you seek will be settled. Believe it! This is the first appearing of God's word to me today and I encourage you with all earnestness, to come to Jesus!!
Those things that bother you, friend are somewhat same things that bother God, your achievement is actually what God want you achieved. But the ways....His ways are not your way! Isa 55:8 This is the problem. God's way to your achievement, ambition, the likes, successes etcetera is not usually the way you've thought about them.
If you would give in to God's way today, be assured, the rest won't be problematic. God Says, if only you'd come to Jesus now, having REST which is the hallmark of living, won't be an issue. Life without rest is restless. A restless life is always brute and wasteful. Living without experiencing rest will lead to early and premature death. For rest itself is work! Gen 2:2, Matt 12:1-8
Until rest is ensued with all vigour, one's works cannot be noticed. Except "rest" is seen all over your achievement, the works that brought you thence are never yours! Rest and settlement are very key to owning any venture. It is written, "They will build houses and dwell in them; they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit. No longer will they build houses and others live in them or plant and others eat." Isa 65:21-22
A restless life owns nothing. The difference between a son and a slave is rest. The slave knows he owns nothing and not even himself, so labours, trying day and night, stealing and changing figures fearing his master's takeover, living in restlessness, even by his own strength. Whereas, the son who owns everything dares not steal his own thing. Everything is his and the thought is completely out of sense to him. Jn 8:35
Now, this rest I proclaim is found only with Jesus, in Him. This is the first and initial rest everyone, including you must receive. And it's a gift! It aims at clearing your pasts, odd records, debts and wrongs, creating a new database for your future, that your enemies will be proved wrong each time they come accusing and harassing you. Friend, this rest is very crucial. If not, your sonship in God is fake! Beloved, you must be rested.
If anyone would have a glimpse of what God has in store for his life, such fellow needs this rest. And it's found only in Jesus, by coming to Him. The burdens, concerns and anxieties of life are lifted off your head, lighting on Jesus' shoulders, Isaiah 9:6. And the Lord is ashamed to bear them for you, carrying you through the hurdles of life. Note: this is an half-rest and the most important connection you need.
My friend, by now, I feel you should be yearning for this rest which is Jesus' Rest, rest from the winds and storms of life providing you a shield and confidence. Jesus our Lord says, "Come to Me". Only He could say so! No one dares! The coming is to Him, not us. Jesus Christ gave that command with all finality, His word as the Son of God and Head of God's Establishments, Col 1:15-20, He says repeatedly, "Come to Me....and I will give you rest" with no demands, no offerings, no extra burdens, no sacrifices. Just come, Jesus reiterates! And to Him!
Would you not like to pray here saying, Lord I desire rest , I deserve rest, I need rest, I mean your own rest, so I come? I come, leaving everything to follow you because You surely know the way to my achievement, ambition where I am going, you're a trusted friend and won't play me down. O Lord, I come. Lord, I come! Mighty Saviour, while saving others please, do not leave me behind. Save me and give me rest all about as you promised. Thank you merciful Jesus! Amen
