ENTERING YOUR REST 8

MEEK AND LOWLY JESUS, 1
"Come to me and I will give you rest – all of you who work so hard beneath a heavy yoke. Wear my yoke – for it fits perfectly – and let me teach you; for I am gentle and humble, and you shall find rest for your souls; for I give you only light burdens." Matt 11:28-30 TLB

Wearing the yoke of Jesus demands that you're gentle and humble. If this yoke is not carefully worn, it could lead to wearing and tearing, friction and fiction, faction and fraction. There's a way to work for eternity and purpose that you won't perspire under its heavy duty and making your work more enduring. And if anyone's work - job or whatsoever is not for God, it's for Self. If your work isn't intended to glorify God, then it'll work well for the devil. Every work done under heaven ought be good, refreshing, replenishing and for God. Gen 1:28

Wearing Jesus' yoke is quite necessary that we might learn to work acceptably, in the ways of God, working without tears nor wearing out. If anyone's life will glorify God, such must be yoke to Jesus and unyoked with unbelievers, disbelievers - all the negatives, doubters who live daily testing God, trying to see if God is really omnipresent, omnipotent or omniscient.

Sweating under this yoke is a curse, and must be avoided. God helped Adam when he was created, He gave him His word. Adam worked in the garden of God, of Eden without a tool but God's word. The same name he gave to each Thing Lord God created was its name thereof. And with the words of God, Adam worked in the garden tending the entire vegetation. There was no tractor, cutlass, pruning scissors, shears or whatever, yet everything obeyed Adam. In fact, Adam's work was without sweat even before God blessed him with another helper, his fitted wife.

Up till the time the Serpent came beguiling, luring them in hearty messages that it's good to sweat! It taught them to leave God's rest and seek hard work. It said to them, "God is feeding you and you're happy?? Soon, you'll be like babies not knowing your right from wrong! Why not go look for bread, even if of sorrow, feeding yourself? When you work hard sweating, even your body will be fine and everybody will respect you. And all this waiting on God for God to God will be a thing of the past. Must you wait for everything you need? Can't you people go out and work? Why must you die in this garden working for nothing?"

Soon their conversation over time yielded fruits and the Adams misbehaved before God their Creator. The last straw that broke their camel's back was eating from the Tree of knowledge of good and bad instead of the Tree of life. God came down and in holy anger made Adam and his wife lives miserable, just the way they thought and desired. They'd entertained Serpent's hissing teachings, everything they wanted God gave them but without His presence - working hard, sweating, feeding themselves, etcetera, away from God's holy rest! Gen 3:16-19

Know this friend, God's work is without sweats. You must be rested working, if God will be glorified in what you do, Jn 5:16-18. If your works won't be accounted for the Flesh, Mr Iniquity, rest must be ensued, observed. Sweating is good and healthy, but not for seeking bread and provisions that the Father who's active responsible for our creation has made. Harnessing these provisions, being at the place at the right time is all we need. In all, waiting should never end.

For the priests, Levites also, God made them seamless garments that would allow them work without sweating or perspiration, Ex 28:2. It is forbidden to sweat for God. Such works are not always acceptable except for the flesh, Self. Not a thing given to God for an offering must be forced, coerced or restless. Rather, it must be freely and given cheerfully. God loves it more if it is He that's actually provided! Oh, lovely! Such offerings are expressively accepted even before it is received, full of grace!

Moses, the disciple of the Lord when called out of the burning Bush that is never consumed was asked to remove his sandals. And God said, "For where you are is a holy ground," Ex 3:1-5. The secret of doing righteous works without being consumed, of getting consumed but not burn out is, standing on God's holy ground. The word of the Lord to Moses, to undo his sandals implied that the work he was about being commissioned belonged to the Lord, not his, put on God's shoulder, never to be in his head...Remove your sandal, God said!!

Offerings or reward of works from restlessness, like that of Cain and Esau don't bring about the righteousness of God Gen 4:11-12, 27:39-40, especially when offered with a warped mind, unknown or wrong motive. Rest comes by being yoked rightly to Jesus our Lord, the Foreman over every work done in God's name. Lord Jesus is meek and lowly in heart, a fitting perfect Leader who sips sufferings on our behalves. Heb 2:10

What are you waiting for, friend? Come to Him, Take His Yoke Upon You and Learn of Him because He is Meek and Lowly in Heart. Learning here is not by rote but through meditative observation. What you see is what you know. It's that simple! Those inevitable tests and exams you'll write are not intended to fail you but understand how well you may be helped, the measure of your faith. So, what are you waiting for? Don't lose out being on the lookout, finish up the task of coming to Jesus! Oh come, Oh come in Jesus name! Amen
