"And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger." Gen 25:23 KJV

Meanwhile, Jacob had spent lots of time with his grandfather Abraham, stayed till his last breath always sitting at his feet understanding God, creation and the importance of birthright, the undaunted task of leading people. He too was very smart to quickly bargain for the life Esau abhorred - birthright. Elder Esau preferred the games, risky lifestyle, the presumptuous uncertain things.

In a nutshell, to God, Jacob rep life of the Spirit and Esau, life of the Flesh. Now let me tell you: if all you know are the people that know you, had grown up with, your own flesh and those related to you by blood, I am not careful to break this sad news to you, "God hated you!" If your entire life is for outside and is never at home with the Lord listening, uncooperative, unyielding, unbecoming, excuse me, you same are Esau incarnate and not ashamed to say it, "God hated you too!"

God is love. Sure, He is! Yea, this "hate" also is nothing but inversion of love, not opposite, some improvisation that gives room to do whatsoever you desire but without God, His presence nor His consent, prone to misdeed, misbehavior and calamity. That you continue in a particular sin as a minister is never an act of grace but a perpetual dis-grace. O yes, God hated you and removed grace from your life. Prov 14:22

The life of flesh will forever bow before the life of Spirit, personal options will always give way for general perception of things. The reducing life of red and hair, of familiarity, of Edom was already cursed by God never to be ahead of expandable life of heels and knees, of Jacob! Hear this, unless your flesh is crucified, it cannot benefit you. In fact, it'll do you no good. Except you fall on this rock yourself and become broken (Matt 21:44) God will accept nothing from you - all kinetic and potential gifts would be permanently rejected, though people may use them. Or are you waiting for God to crush you?

On the other hand, the right hand Jacob stretched during his delivery grasping the heels of Esau before his whole body came forth proved Jacob as a man of Spirit who walked in the Spirit and acted on grace. He actualized that graceful opportunity, purchasing the birthright in order to preserve the family's heritage. On his return twenty years after, the first person he met was Esau with his 400-man army, he handed him his portion - the venison he loved.

But God loved Jacob.

Jos 1:7 says, " Only be strong and very courageous that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses my servant commanded you, do not turn from it to the right hand or the left, that you may prosper wherever you go ". Doing the will of God, the righteousness of God is not about the rights or wrongs, not turning the left or the right but simply doing the will of the Father.
