He shall die for lack of instruction, and in the greatness of his folly, he shall go astray. Proverbs 5:23 NKJV
DAY 5, LIVING INSTRUCTED
There was a story told of a young man whom his father, a king in Israel, never disciplined, instructed, or corrected, a handsome man with a great heart for leadership but lacked instructions, 1 Kings 1:5-6.
Corrections don't always have to be after falling. It can be preventive. Or of what use is crying over spilled milk? Can the milk be gathered back into its previous container? What use is it if an egg falls broken? Can it be put back into its shell?
Adonijah eventually died because he lived anyhow, uninstructed, lacking self-control, discipline, or truths but pursuing everything that appealed to him. He stretched out his hand against the king and was struck dead!
