18 BLACKGOSPEL, A FRIEND

A man who has friends must be friendly, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24 NKJV

DAY 18, A FRIEND 
A friend is simply a neighbour, or say, everyone else around you. This also is the definition of the "world" - everyone besides you. You've read times and again, "Don't copy the world or the things in the world". Its meaning is, don't copy anyone else, but be the original of yourself!

Now, anyone who refuses to be a neighbour, feeling superior in connection to a good neighbour is an enemy. It is not for fun that the Bible writes, A man's enemies shall be members of his household. It's either you're a neighbour or an outright enemy.

Oftentimes, it's been said that blood is thicker than water but I break this news to you that, spirit is sticker than blood. 1 John 5:8 says, And there are three that bear witness on earth: Spirit, the water and the blood; and these three agree as one.

That means, family ties are not as healthy and strong as fellowship ties. Connection as children of God is incomparably better than ties within children of the same mother.
